~A native fruit to middle East, pomegranate has been used as folk medicine for thousands of years.The juice contain substances that support a healthy prostate and antioxidants to maintain the elasticity of the arteries.

All parts of the plant are used as medicine in Ayurvedic traditions. The seeds( the arils) and their juice are most valued for their antiviral and antibacterial properties.

~The oil from their seeds contains isoflavones similar to those found in soya. The rind of the pomegranates is used in many medicinal traditions for making teas and gargles.Recent studies indicate it contain chemicals which are antibiotic and have cancer- fighting properties.

Pomegranate is protective to the heart,Its polyphenol compounds keep arteries elastic and so help lower blood pressure and risk of heart disease and strokes. It also stop free radicals oxidizing " unhealthy "LDL" cholesterol in the blood and causing plaque build up on artery wall( atherosclerosis)

Preliminary studies indicate that pomegranate extract,equivalent to one glass of juice) can block the production of an enzyme that destroys cartilage in the body. Pomegranate also help in fighting infections, the juice has antiviral properties, and studies show that extracts of the fruit are effective against dental plaque.
